About Me
Hello, I’m Joey Johnson, an Atlanta-based video professional, SAG-AFTRA stunt-performer, martial artist and visual artist with over a decade of experience.
My work spans post-production artistry and on-camera performance, giving me a unique ability to shape narratives from both sides of the lens.
In addition to running Metal Horse Productions, I serve as a Senior Video Editor at WebMD and Medscape, with previous experience at The Boys & Girls Clubs of America and a Zhejiang TV station in China. My work has earned multiple Telly Awards, been featured in Times Square, and included collaborations with high-profile figures and brands.
What led me to this career? My journey began in childhood, when my father introduced me to classic kung fu cinema, and I immediately fell in love - from epic martial arts films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Hero, to slap-stick kung fu comedies like Drunken Master, or even gritty crime movies like My Father is a Hero or Police Story - I have always been driven by the art of visual storytelling through action.
This passion allows me to bring a unique perspective to every project, whether I’m crafting an edit in post or bringing energy and authenticity to the screen as a performer.
